What Jen Says

“I want to be able to continue doing what I love as long as possible, and I want to help others do the same while they too navigate life’s responsibilities. I want to help them become the best version of themselves.”

About Coach Jen

From horseback riding to mixed martial arts, Jen grew up active. In 2006 the triathlon bug bit at her first event and hasn’t slowed down since. She’s explored sprint to iron distance, but 70.3’s are her favorite. She learned quickly that training for longevity in endurance sports had to span more than just a swim-bike-run routine, which is why she adamantly incorporates strength, mobility, nutrition, and recovery into her schedule. She believes that by challenging ourselves to be “competitive” with ourselves in all areas needed to support being competitive on the race course, we can help ourselves to become the best versions of ourselves, and continue doing the activities we love for as long as possible

Jen experienced the challenge of being a single parent while getting started in triathlon, so she had to work at finding the professional, parenting, and training balance throughout different seasons of sport and family. It wasn’t always easy and took lots of learning! She hopes to share her years of experience and lessons with others experiencing similar circumstances because with a little guidance, she believes we can each find our unique formulas for navigating life’s responsibilities while pursuing our endurance goals.

Outside of the worldwide Peak Athletic Collective, Jen is deeply involved in her local endurance sports community. She supports and mentors athletes through her local bike shop, is a long-time member of her local triathlon club, and even coaches the club’s youth team. In the little time outside of that, Jen operates her own massage business and hikes with her husband.
