JOIN STAGE 12!

The route you'll tackle today is a strenuous 31km section with 1087m of ascent forming only a short part of a mostly flat and slightly downhill course that the pros will race, covering a total of 175km. The section you will be racing on will be the final portion of the route, which contains two climbs with brutal double-digit gradients that will test the legs and require some grit. The pros will continue over the summit to end in a sprint finale.

The first climb begins in ancient Medina Azahara, a fortified palace city and an important historical landmark in Andalusia. You'll climb about 400m, followed by some undulating terrain towards the summit of San Jeronimo at around the 15km mark. Then, you'll descend for 8km into the ancient and cultural city of Cordoba before heading uphill again for the final tough 7km climb to the finish.
