The Autodromo Internacional de Goiânia will host a cycling competition, but this time in a different way. On October 16, the Goiás circuit will be, for the first time ever, the setting for the penultimate stage of a virtual event, the first Brazilian Virtual Cycling Championship. Join the exciting event while visiting Brazil; it's the best in Brazil for cyclists.
Named after the great idol of Formula 1 and one of the best drivers in the sport, as well as a national hero, the autodrome was inaugurated in October 1974. With a modern circuit, it is considered an extremely safe route with 3.82km in length. It currently hosts events for Stock Car Brazil, Copa Truck, SuperBike Brazil, and many more.
The site is also open during the week for training cyclists and triathletes, who now, in addition to the real option, can train indoors on rainy or very cold days, without losing the technical conditions of the circuit.
The Secretary of State for Sport and Leisure, Henderson Rodrigues, celebrated the inclusion of the Autodromo de Goiânia in the newly created competition. “Our racecourse is one of the most loved by drivers of all categories in Brazil, who love coming here to race. Now it will also be enjoyed by several cyclists in a virtual way, a new way to compete, using technology. For us, this visibility brings a very cool image return to our circuit, which is becoming more and more popular”, highlighted the Secretary.
