'I feel Slovenia' - Virtual Tour of Slovenia | Stage 5

Ljubljana, Slovenia / March 23rd, 2021 - The open, Virtual Tour of Slovenia by ‘I feel Slovenia’ on ROUVY is on its final stage events. Cyclists worldwide are readying to travel and finish the race series around Slovenia virtually. The Group Ride (on March 23rd) with David Gregorič and the TT race  (on March 27th) are provided to enable riders to meet online and compete with the Slovenian pros from Adria Mobil Cycling Team.

The previous stages witnessed hundreds of riders compete per event with passionate and close battles. With 1:1 simulation of real tracks, ROUVY’s immersive augmented/mixed reality platform enables athletes to visit their next race location online and ride along with the pros. The race series presents the country of Slovenia, the homeplace of many world top level pro riders, to the global cycling community via ROUVY. All ‘I feel Slovenia’ events were organized by the Sport Media Focus, the Slovenian Tourist Board and the Adria Mobil Cycling Team. Unfortunately, Primož Roglič will not be on the starting line due to his injury; but his signed jersey will be up for grabs! Every rider has an equal opportunity to win it, in the random draw. All that is needed is for the rider to cross the finish line on the last TT stage for a chance to win.

As expected from all great multi-staged velotours, the final stage has arrived at the capital.

STAGE 5 ROUTE REVIEW - Tour of Slovenia | Ljubljana

The last part of the Virtual Tour of Slovenia takes place on the loop around Ljubljana and crosses the Tivoli Park. Ljubljana is considered one of the nicest capitals in Europe and is a pleasure to discover, either by bike or on foot. The time trial route in Ljubljana is relatively short, fast and technically undemanding. Towards the end of the stage, this slightly rolling course brings a steep but short climb that finishes by the castle on the top of the city. The course has a total distance of 17.6 km, with a 1% average gradient and a 157 m elevation (the stage route is here).

About the Tour of Slovenia

The Tour of Slovenia is the largest cycling event in Slovenia, which every year increasingly attracts more and more people, who follow and watch the race either at the race track or through different media channels. The very first Tour of Slovenia was organized in May 1993, just one year after the Slovenian Cycling Federation became a member of the international cycling association, the UCI. The Slovenian tour has continuously grown and developed. Today, after successfully finishing it's 25th edition, it attracts the world’s best cyclists and cycling teams that compete and demonstrate their skills on picturesque Slovenian roads, where images of landscapes change from Alpine to Pannonian and to Mediterranean. With world-class partners and a new slogan “Fight for green”, the Tour of Slovenia is gaining new momentum and is, aside from being a top cycling event, also becoming one of the main events for the international promotion of Slovenia as a five-star tourist destination.
