Climb Conqueror training plan : WEEK #1

We kick off with a blend of short sprints, tempo intervals and steady endurance work to activate your neuromuscular system and build early climbing strength. Low-cadence efforts and controlled intensities help develop coordination, control and aerobic efficiency for the weeks ahead.

Climb Conqueror training plan: WEEK #2

This week combines strength, control and explosive power. Sweet spot intervals build fatigue resistance for long climbs, while sprint sets sharpen acceleration and neuromuscular response. Low-cadence efforts continue to develop torque and climbing-specific resilience.

Climb Conqueror training plan: WEEK #3

You’ll build stamina and control through longer Zone 3 intervals, low-cadence work and structured climbing efforts. Pyramid-style sessions improve aerobic efficiency and simulate real terrain. Added sprints and short Zone 4 blocks sharpen your climbing response and explosive strength.

Climb Conqueror training plan: WEEK #4

This is your biggest climbing block yet. A mix of intensities and low-cadence intervals builds strength, control and climbing resilience. Extended efforts in the “Queen Stage” challenge both endurance and power, preparing you to conquer real-world climbs with confidence.

AFTER THE Climb Conqueror training plan: WHAT’S NEXT?

After completing this training plan, it's crucial to give your body the rest it needs. Enjoy a week of easy riding – either outdoors or on ROUVY – in zones 1 and 2, maintaining a steady cadence of 90 RPM. Remember, rest is just as important as training. Ignoring rest and recovery can lead to overtraining, so prioritize it.

Endurance nutrition for cyclists and triathletes: what to eat & when

Nutrition for endurance athletes is just as important as training itself. Whether you’re preparing for a triathlon, logging hours on the bike, or testing yourself in an indoor cycling session, fueling strategies determine performance and recovery. From endurance cycling nutrition to post-race refueling, knowing what to eat during long rides and how to balance carbs, hydration, and recovery will help you perform at your best.

A guide to key cycling metrics that can improve your riding

Learn about some essential metrics to help you understand why they are important in monitoring and measuring your progress when creating a training plan. I will discuss setting goals, FTP testing, power training zones, Normalised Power, Intensity Factor (IF) and Training Stress Score (TSS). There is no need to feel daunted by these terms, data and numbers if you keep reminding yourself to stick to your plan and use the training metrics available on ROUVY to help you with your riding.
