3 CLOTHING 👚 HACKS THAT HELP PRO RIDERS SURVIVE THE SPRING CLASSICS! 🔥

There’s another important aspect of Spring Classic races: attire. Racing in the Spring Classics is all about being prepared for anything. Spring, especially in northern Europe, can be unpredictable. It can turn from sunny and happy, to snowy to hypothermic in minutes.

⛈️ In addition to a light rain jacket, here are a few other items you shouldn't forget on your next Spring Classic-style ride.

1/3 BASE LAYER

Have you ever had sweat-soaked cold jerseys stick to your skin when you’re already cold and low on sugar? 😤 It’s a nightmare. Here’s what you need: a base layer. This thing wicks sweat away from your body, keeping your skin dry and warm, since air is much better at insulating than sweat. ✅

Give a base layer a shot if you haven’t yet. But remember, not every base layer is created equal. They range from utterly useless to “how have I lived without one?” 💡 Lots of new technology goes into making these things, so don’t skimp on this part of the kit.

2/3 ROBUST BIB SHORTS

To keep warm and extra cushioned on cobbled sections, riders sometimes wear bibs 🦵 with thicker fabric and padding for the Spring Classics. Bib tights tend to get too hot during summer races, so riders rarely wear them. Instead, they use leg warmers that can be put on or stowed away quickly.

✅ Pick up a pair of robust bib shorts for your next cold ride, and keep leg warmers in your jersey pocket. 😉 Not worrying about hypothermia will make your rides more enjoyable.

3/3 HIGH-VISIBILITY KIT

🌥️ In racing, bad weather makes everything difficult. Riders’ vision worsens, tech teams have a harder time finding 🧐 their riders, and bystanders get sloppy and distracted. A perfect recipe for a disaster.

That’s why team kits are extremely visible and distinguishable. 💡 And that’s exactly what you want when riding in challenging weather. For your next rainy or foggy ride, put away that sexy stealthy outfit and wear something colourful and bright instead. ✅ You will experience fewer stressful situations on your rides if you are more visible.
