Niseko Classic has been certified as one of the qualifying races for UCI Gran Fondo World Series (UGFWS) by UCI in 2016. The event has grown to become an international race in Japan and one of the leading races in Asia, with 20% of the participants coming from abroad. The area includes four towns of Kutchan, Niseko, Rankoshi, and Kyowa, which are located at the foot of the Niseko mountain. You must ride and finish the selected routes in a "Time Trial" or Race.
The first Niseko Classic, held in 2014, began as a small group about 160 most with local riders, with the course layout and race environment, the event gained attention from domestic amateur cyclists as one of the leading open road race in Japan.
