Ride the same routes that the best riders in the World are going to be facing from April 17th to 21st, 2023.
The first kilometres are quite flat and perfect to warm up for the uphill coming up in the the last 20 km. The ascent to the Kerschbaumer Sattel boasts several sections with double-digit gradients. After the descent and a very short flat section, the last 4.5 Km climb again, with steeper gradients in the final Km.
After the course gets off from Brixen/Bressanone, a first short climb leads to Feldthurns/Velturno. However, it will be the ascent of Barbian/Barbiano that will ignite the race, 18 km from the finish. The road narrows and the gradients increase until the KOM of Mittelberg/Monte di Mezzo located less than 4 km from the finish in Ritten/Renon, reached after a few more ups and downs. The finish is located inside the Ritten Arena, a rink that is used for speed skating competitions in winter.
The early section of the course, from Mori to Avio (Trentino), is flat, perfect for warming up the legs of the riders. After crossing Avio, a long and demanding final climb will be tackled: slightly over 15,5 km of demanding ascent at 7,5% and peaks at 16% to the finish line in San Valentino di Brentonico.
The course begins in Molina di Fiemme, before facing the climb to the Pramadiccio Pass (9,7 Km at 6,1%), introduced by the characteristic 'Della Cascata' (Of the Waterfall) climb, the iconic and decisive ascent of the Marcialonga. The KOM, located 15 km from the finish line, includes a very fast downhill section towards Tesero, and a flat segment towards Predazzo, with the last kilometer slightly uphill.
The course starts and finishes in Bruneck/Brunico. It includes a long circuit with the Mühlbach/Riomolino climb, which has an average gradient of 8.2%, with some steep spikes at 18%. After the climb, there are 19 km left to the finish, with 5 km of ups and downs at high altitude, 8 km of steep and winding descent, and 6 km of mostly flat terrain around Bruneck/Brunico.
